Local Show This Sunday – Support A Local Artist!

This weekend, I’ll be showing a small selection of my newest work at the town hall of the little village where I live – Mille-Isles, Québec. The town is graciously putting on this show of 4 local artists for the Journées de la Culture, which will take place on Sunday, September 30th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can find google map directions right here.

I’m really looking forward to meeting the other artists from my town as well as all the visitors. Although I love living here because it’s incredibly peaceful (which I absolutely need to be able to make my work) it can be very isolating for an artist to live in such a rural area where not much goes on. So this chance to connect with some fellow art lovers is precious! And as a little bonus, the fall foliage should be starting to be at its best, so if you’re anywhere in this area or you feel like setting off for a beautiful day of leaf-peeping in the Laurentians, I do hope you’ll stop by.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all the lovely comments about my new website, and to everyone who has joined my mailing list and also purchased work from me in the past months. Selling even a small piece helps to keep the ball rolling here. So many people don’t think twice about blowing a hundred bucks for a cheap made-in-China screen print from Marshall’s or IKEA that millions of other people have hanging in their space – for the same price or perhaps just a bit more (and often less!!), you can bring home an original work of art from a local artist, and support an actual person instead of a corporation.

If you’d like to receive a letter from me every month about what’s going on with me, where to find my work and also get exclusive access to special promotions and other gifts that I have in the works for all you art lovers, please do sign up for my mailings list, right here:

(Hint – I’ve got something really cool coming up that I’m only going to be sending out to my mailing list… if you like zines, get on my list!)

And don’t forget, you can always check out what I’ve been doing on Instagram too.
